Welcome back! I trust you all had a wonderful Tet holiday! I know I did—-I visited all my friends in Nghe An province!

In Week 6 of our News Literacy Project course, we will cover the topic of the News Literacy Project’s Rumor Guard: We will look at slides that use real trending examples of misinformation, with the goal of guiding students through the fact-checking process.

Students get to see how reporters fact-check claims, learn news literacy skills and become encouraged to put those skills into practice.

We will look at some cool AI-generated videos and learn how to determine if a video posing as real-world news is fake or not.
