May 31 House of Wisdom English Teachers and Students Discussion Series: Week 2 of the AI Sessions.

We will spend this week, our 2nd in a workshop of at least 4 weeks, continuing to learn how to write more effective prompts. Dao will also spend some time discussing how to use Grok and some of its features and advantages. Grok is free to use, and is the AI behind Elon Musk’s company called xAI.

We invite everyone who is planning on attending to do some of their own research. Here is a link to a helpful article that we will be discussing and sampling for oral reading practice on Saturday. We will then go to the Open AI Academy, where users can take courses on how to use ChatGPT more effectively. In particular, we will look at a 9-minute video called “Mastering Prompts: The Key to Getting What You Need from ChatGPT.”

We will spend the next few weeks in a deep dive on how to write more effective prompts so that our AI-generated responses have the lowest probability of error.

We invite everyone who is planning on attending to do some of their own research before we meet on Saturday. Familiarize yourself with the tools AI users apply before accepting the claims of any Generative AI as truth.

On May 3, 2025 at 22:00 we will explore Deep Seek, the Chinese AI program that is totally free and rivals the best AI programs in the world!

Hùng Chí will help us understand 2 other AI programs that specialize in creating AI voices (ElevenLabs) and AI videos (HeyGen). Chí will also present some features of Deep Seek.

We will use AI in 4 steps:

1) Use an online book (we first take turns reading aloud from the selection) and get ChatGPT to take 3 paragraphs from that book, rewrite them using only 8th grade English vocabulary, and then we will again take turns reading aloud from the updated writing provided by ChatGPT.

2) Use ChatGPT to rewrite these paragraphs as lyrics. The class will then take turns reading aloud from this lyric writing.

3) Use Suno AI to write a song using those lyrics and a voice we choose from the Suno AI menu.
